Note that 196mm is the max length of our straws!
This diameter is outside our recommended range.
You may need more than two people and/or need to
support the structure during the build. Keeping the sticks
light in weight will help when going to larger diameters.

The ball connectors are designed for straws that are 6mm in diameter. If you’re buying more straws, get a small number to test the fit before getting lots!

These are the full point-to-point distances for creating a cover.
The values take into account the diameter of the straws, such that the cover should fit over the top, note that these dimensions don’t include any seam allowance.
The straw lengths are 33mm shorter than the values here to account for the space the hubs and ball connectors take up.

Note that the pentagons are shown complete to aid understanding of the component parts. As a flat pattern there would be a triangular gap between the edges of two of the triangles. Once joined together the pentagons would have their 3-dimensional form.
